Your Domestic Administrator and customs representative in Japan, in English.

Since 25 December 2025, an overseas business selling products regulated under PSE or PSC (and the gas and LPG acts) directly to Japanese consumers, without a Japanese importer in between, must appoint a Domestic Administrator (国内管理人) with an address in Japan and Japanese-language ability, and notify METI. Importing stock in your own name, for example into Amazon FBA, means appointing a customs representative (ACP, 税関事務管理人) before the first shipment. Amazon.co.jp's 12 December 2025 notice asks overseas sellers to appoint the administrator and file with METI, and says listings may be removed otherwise.

What the role includes

The five duties METI requires the delegation contract to cover, and how we handle each.

Contact point for METI. We receive and answer ministry enquiries in Japanese and forward everything to you in English the same day.

Hazard and recall measures. We hold your recall procedure, act on it if METI or a customer reports an incident, and keep you in the loop hour by hour.

Receipt of notices. Ministerial dispositions and notices are served on us; you get a translated summary and the original within one business day.

Records on file. Test reports, conformity certificates and the product list are kept ready for inspection, and shared through your Compliance Passport.

Reports and inspections. We respond to METI reports and on-site inspections on your behalf, with you on a call if needed.

Also included: a Compliance Passport page for each product (records refreshed daily), the Watch alert service, Amazon.co.jp document replies in Japanese, and unlimited email questions answered within one business day.

Indicative pricing (early access)

Domestic Administrator: JPY 96,000 / year for up to 3 product models (JPY 12,000 per additional model)
Customs ACP: JPY 60,000 / year + JPY 15,000 per import declaration coordinated
Both roles together: JPY 132,000 / year
Early-access clients keep this price for two years.

Contracts are signed by our Japanese entity once the first group is confirmed; early-access members are told the start date in writing before any commitment.
We only take on products whose test reports we can verify, and we decline “name only” arrangements.
